# Merge client profiles

## How merging clients works

Caspen identifies potential duplicates when another client in your account has the same first and last name.

Merging a client's profile combines all their client's details, invoices, activities, appointments, communications, credit notes, orders, payments, refunds, progress notes, waitlist entries, assets, folders, and files into one profile. Please note this action cannot be undone.

If a client books online using details that exactly match a current profile, the system automatically merges them into one.

## Merge clients

If you have two profiles for the same person with different details and want to keep the information from both, merge the profiles into one.

1. Open **Clients**, **locate the primary client** then **click on their name** or **Actions** → **View** to open their client profile.
